greetings from venezuela.

just recently red this book, with a weekly progressive routine to increase the amount of pull ups. it goes a lil something like this:

week 1:
monday: 5 pull ups/4 chin ups/5 pull ups narrow/4 chin ups/3 pull ups
wednesday: 6/5/5/6/4
friday: 5/6/6/5/5

it increases from week to week until achieve the desired target.

have anyone tried this method?

am using 30 lbs extra, lest see if by the last week i can do 35 pull ups carring that weight

I do 2 times a week pull ups, 5 sets till max, sometimes I do max with 15kg then with 10 then with 5...but I always rest 2 minutes between sets...should I rest more for better results?

2minute rest u will get no where.dont russh your training. If u want to get your reps up u need to be 100% for each set maybe 5,6,7minute rest.

Tnx mate.
My reps fall down, now I can do 16 max,I done em every day,I didn't have progress..last time I did 15 max, today I did 16/13/12/11/10 --6-7 min. pause...Tell me is it better not to do them with weights till I hit 25 without any weight? then I can add weight and push further...

ironloo is it good or bad if I do 18 max pull ups then 2 more with help with a chair or bench? just to push little more with these 2 additional reps..
I do push ups till max then I continue to do them on my knees for couple more reps

For the pushups thats good, for the pullups just kip +5 extra.Do as many clean till failure then use kipping.People think its bad, its bad for a beginner. It will aid more reps

Thanks mate I will try that.

Also I will try this sometimes in my workout:

Perform a max or near-max effort set of pull-ups (i.e., 90+% of a maximum effort). Immediately after your last repetition (your max), begin performing assisted pull-ups (e.g. jumping to help you or having a band at-the-ready would work, too). Perform the set of assisted pull-ups until you max out again (note: go to technical failure, not muscle failure – just as many reps as you can perform with good technique). Immediately after the assisted reps, perform a max set of negative repetitions (i.e., just the lowering portion of the exercise).

hey ironloo, when I do static holds, and when my chin is over the bar and I just hold there as much as I can, then my arm start to shake fast..maybe after 15-20 sec. Is that mean that I must improve my strength in that position? Is this shaking good or bad? Thanks

its bad only if it causes pain
