PostSubject: Front lever help   Thu Jan 17, 2013 6:22 pm

Hi guys,

I would like to get some advice / feedback around when I could expect to get a FL.

Right now, I have a pretty solid one leg extended FL that I train either in static hold or alternating extending left/right leg (i am able to do this about 15 times).
I am also able to pull from the one leg extended hold for about 4-6 reps.

Recently, I have been feeling like making further progress probably due to the fact that I have introduced some dragon flag training.
The issue is that I have reservation moving on to straddled work (which is supposed to be a next logical progression) due to a total lack of flexibity on my side.

Would any of you able to recommend a next alternative progression for me? Or give me a pointer of how I could roughly assess how far I am to one of my dream goal?

Thanks !!!

You can do adv tuck with weights on your ankles.

You can also just slowly move your feet away from the adv tuck position, a bit more hit and miss in terms of keeping track of where you are, but effective non the less. Just extend your legs till just before you can't hold it anymore and hold that position.

Also do icecream makers... start at the top position of a pull-up, tense everything and contract your triceps pushing you into a front lever... try and do this controlled and hold the FL for a split second... Do it for reps
