 Dangers of Whey Protein

PostSubject: Dangers of Whey Protein   Sat Sep 22, 2012 9:40 am

Have you guys dealt with negative effects of Whey Protein? For me personally, I've stopped using it some time ago due to the extreme headaches I would get when I take it post workout. Any experiences?

Most protein out right now are all junk and cause bloat not dangerous. These are top 3 out right now.

Ok cool because going the natural route is pretty expensive and time consuming!!! But I guess the better question would be how good are the protein shakes in comparison with protein found in natural foods.

With good brands, They match up fairly well. However you miss out on the other micro and macro nutrients if you rely solely on protein shakes.

I've used unflavoured whey from myprotein.com, but I've pretty much stopped using it as I feel strong and have good recovery without it. Never had any negative effects from it, but then I have no issues with dairy.

I guess you have to watch your calorie and protein intake when incorporating protein shakes into a diet or if your lactose intolerant. I used to take a shake before workout and after. The effects were great...but the headaches not so much. How many protein shakes do you guys take?

Never had headaches from them before... If it's localised around your workout, are you certain it's the protein shakes, not something like dehydration?

And usually once a day with breakfast - makes life easier in the mornings instead of cooking something Smile

It's probably dehydration because yesterday I felt the same way but worse. Like seeing tunnel vision kinda bad. Thanks

How much water do you drink?

Try and aim for 2 litres of non-soda non-coffee non-alcoholic drinks.

Space it out through the day and you should find yourself feeling better and also recovering quicker.

Also check out bluebonnet whey...very clean and the whey comes from grass fed cows.

Never had headaches but on a low qual protein the farts are deadly.

I highly recommend sunwarrior. I'm using the stuff now and it's amazing. I also use Raw Meal by Garden of Life.
