Well let myself go for to long and decided time to get back in shape. Using this log to keep track of my workouts as i work towards my goal of climbing a 5.11 rated outdoor climb. First workout will be tonight once it cools off outside currently 90 outside.

Well nothing all to exciting today, forgot to add my stats earlier

age 34 as of this coming thursday
height 6'1
weight 206.4 i know i know need to get this way down

5 minutes of jump rope had to stop a few times

close grip pullups 8-6-4-2
wide grip pullups 3-3
pushups 20-17-12-10-10

Need to find a place to do dips around my house, and intend to start doing a decent amount of core work, as climbing is very core intensive.

Hey, Welcome to the forums Smile

The link below is something i've used to help with my grip strength for climbing Smile
http://bar-barians.forumotions.net/t2526-how-to-improve-your-grip-stamina-and-endurance

As for core work, along with anythingelse you do, practice front levers, I'm finding they are becoming more and more useful (mainly for bouldering rather than lead/top rope).

9/4/2012

10 minutes on eliptical for warm up 1.25 miles

pullups 9-5-4-3-3

dips 10-5-6-4-3

went to do pushups and after everything else did 8 the first set and laughed at myself and stopped i know keep going.

9/5/2012

5 minutes of jump rope felt a little better and through some crossed arms in for fun still cant do full 5 minutes without stopping.

pullups 9-7-6-5-4 better than last time but i used to be able to do close to 20 amazing how fast you lose it.

dead arm hang: one minute way happier

lying leg raises: 5 sets of ten. these suckers hurt

plank 46 seconds this blows need to improve so much

Well trying to get back on board

3 or 3.5 mile run
50 situps
30 pushups

climbing trip planned for this weekend.

Trying to watch what i eat and all and get more motivated to work out but finding it damn hard to stick with it. any suggestions for workouts or plans to follow that will help me lose weight and get me sting for climbing?
