thanks magic! I had cut down to around 171 and now headed for 185 maybe more. If I can still be fast and have endurance at a weight above 185 I'll take it. I dont think I want to be over 190 though...too much food needed to maintain.

@NGN your progression is awesome.

I guess your diet has a lot to say on that. Can you explain, in general words, what do you eat and how? (IF or similar)

Thanks Holden.

First I want to say that these are guidelines and sometimes adhering to them too strictly can cause burnout...but the better you follow the guidelines the better results you will get from both your nutrition and exercise. dont stress out so much on sauces and such but cleaning those up will help too.

Follow the IF/LG eating schedule and macros guidelines according to what time of day you are able to workout.

Eat clean foods:
1. no sugar or cornsyrup, it is inflammatory and screws up your ability to be metabolically flexible (burn fats or carbs for energy)
2. no sports drinks or commercial glycogen replacement products for the same reason
3. no wheat flour, it is inflammatory. Sprouted wheat and grains are good.
4. no dairy with the exception of organic butter. dairy is inflammatory and even organic milk is no good.
5. no non food additives or preservatives.
6. no eating out, prep your own food....I know you have to go on dates and stuff so go find a super clean organic place. Eating out in general doesn't make sense because the establishment owner is more concerned with profit than your health.
7. cut down on red meat unless you are eating grass fed.
8. Increase clean organic vegetable intake. 3-4 cups daily
9. Increase clean organic fruit intake 3-4 cups daily. Should be early in the day though, so transition from fruit to veggies.
10. Get 20min of direct sunlight per day with just shorts on....Vit D
11. Drink a crap load of water. If it is filtered, and it should be, add a little sea salt to put some minerals back in. drinking pure water will tend to pull minerals out, which is not good.
12. supplement with fish oil. 1500mg EPA and 750mg of DHA

Ive listed the supplements I take in the nutrition section. I will leave it up to you to research and decide what foods you are going to fuel yourself with. Following the above guidelines may seem a tad over the top but if you want performance and results you do what you gotta do. I decided that at my age I needed all the help I could get...

cheers

Thanks for the reply!

I follow some of these points yet, but others not. I'm eating right in general terms, but when I start cutting I'm going to be more strictly and those points will help. Thanks Very Happy

Part of new training. Not enough weights so i got creative soon i gorilla tape weight till 180lbs.

Pre - fatigue training i do these heavy rows high reps each arm then directly into pullups.Same for push instead i do log clean and press directly into dips or pushups.Training like this is needed to reach another level. Whole point is to kill your pull soo bad before the pullups and build up this way till you can do your old max after the rows, same for push.

No sleep managing the on/off routine w/ 45lbs. dips 25 reps -remove weight do 25 more reps x 3-6 sets consecutive reps count only the second you pause the set is over. Im 190ish here i will gain 10 more lbs. with much more reps & strength.

No more games got to try new things and invent new ways to get stronger.

here's how it goes:
270lbs & 300lbs. strongman Neck Row hold touching the neck for :20 seconds drop weight, no rest hold top of pull up :20 seconds, hold middle pull up :20 seconds, hold bottom pull up :20 seconds, take :20 second rest max out full rom pullups i will do this till i can get +40 pullups in this fashion.

The purpose is to be extremely fatigued before the pullups, then build up to my old max or higher in this fashion.

My whole weight set now i will build high reps with this all over again till 20+. Deadlifts are important for all athletes, to build more power the stress added is hard to duplicate.

Nice pic, sucks they just took down my whole childhood park i was born in know how u feel.

Part of new training i do 270lbs. log rows 5 reps minimum before my pullup set. This log wears my pull strength down a lot making the typical easy pullup very hard.Pre-fatigue training.

I'm sorry, but for me this has nothing to do with the philosophy of the barbarians.

Don't Be sorry. Your right too this is not the bar-barian philosophy at all. I trained with the bar-barians i learned lots from them i use routines i learned plus, my own philosophy which is very different.See i combine everything to become stronger.
