Its a vegetable protein so it doesnt have good balance of all the essential aminos needed for building muscle. If you eat with other grain proteins and vegetable proteins you might make a complete protein or a better balanced one with it but its nowhere near as bioavailable as meat and dairy proteins. As you can see peanuts are at the bottom of the list. I would say skip it as a main protein source but others here have other opinions. Its hard to argue with the numbers though.

the importance of peanut butter is not just the protein...it is the good fats that it contains. we need essential fats in our diet and peanut butter is a hell of a good one. it is also a good energy boast before a workout. try a peanut butter with an apple of a banana. light, delicious, and nutritious. i eat peanut butter everyday.

also it is wise to put peanut butter into your shake to help absorb all the nutrients. fats are very important to ensure you are taking in all the good from you shake.

I agree but as a protein source not so good. Cool I love my organic PB and raw honey sandwiches on Ezekiel bread and usually have 2 after training.

lb. for lb. its very nutrient dense and also has more of the antioxidant revestrol the same in red wine. I am back at eating 1lbs. container a day. Helps recovery,and overall performance.

This is a good article looking at both the good and bad points of PB.

It is an omega 6 fat, which needs to be consumed in moderation, and balanced with plenty of omega 3 fats (mainly fish). Although we all know that processed fats are bad, it is also bad to consume a lot of omega 6 when it's not balanced out by a good level of consumption of omega 3's. You can read more here.

Although I love it, and eat it most days, I try not to eat too much as there are lots of much healthier fats (oily fish, coconut, avocado, flax etc.) that it would be better to consume.

nothing wrong with it unless youre allergic to it. just make sure that the only ingredient is peanuts. no skippy/jiffy s**t
