PostSubject: Cody's Training Log   Thu Jan 19, 2012 1:17 am

So, I'm not really sure if anyone is interested in following this, but I thought I might as well make one to keep track of my progress.

Here are my maxes at the moment

Pull-ups - 12
Chin-ups - 15
Push-ups - 51
Dips - 15

Wednesday 1-18-2012

W-5 ladder on pull-ups/chin-ups (53 pull/chin-ups) I started to do chin-ups when I got tired from pull-ups.

Abs (mostly crunches)
Jumping squats
W-7 ladder on push-ups (103 push-ups)
Calf Raises - 3x20 (each leg)
Dips - 3x5 I was too tired after everything else. Sad

I'm going to attempt to do a full body workout 3x a week. Will check maxes every 2 weeks or so. I would like to also try to progress to harder exercises, but I'm not really sure when I'll be ready. Hoping to get MUs and HSPUs sometime this year.

Also, for the diet, I'm just keeping it pretty simple. Trying my best to eat as healthy as possible and trying to get in a lot of protein. I have counted calories before and I know what I need to maintain/lose/gain weight, but that's when I'm not working out hard. Last time I tried to gain weight, I ate too many calories and put on a lot of fat, so I'm just going to listen to my body this time and eat when I'm hungry and not shove food down my throat just to get in more calories.

I'd also like to reach the Bar-Barians requirements ASAP, so I'll be working extra hard for that.

After looking at your current maxes, I'd say you can probably hit a muscle-up within 3-4 months if you work hard and rest appropriately. Get it!

So today, I had absolutely no energy and could only finish the W-5 pull-up part. Sad

Monday should be better.

As long as you're still getting enough rest/recovery, the race thing would be good to do.

Sure, that sounds good. Very Happy

Right now my routine looks like this

W-5 Pull-ups
Abs (Mostly crunches and few other exericses. Nothing too crazy.)
W-7 Push-ups
Calf Raises 3x20-25 each leg
Jumping Squats/Pistols
Dips 3 X max

I'm probably gonna try to change it up after a month or so, so when I do I'll let you know. Also, I've decided I'm going to try to practice handstands everyday so I can get ready for HSPUs in a few months lol.

Not that many, I'd say 15-20 at the most. I just now started doing them.

but I sorta feel like my homemade parallel bars are too far apart and I have a hard time isolating the triceps. Sad

Looks good.

It seems like a lot of people on this site agree with high volume training. I'm hoping I'll get better results with my current routine than the other one I was doing.

I was doing 3 sets to failure for each exercise and I haven't made that great of gains..

After one high volume workout my arms already look a bit bigger. Not sure if it's just my mind, but I'll take it! Very Happy

Every time I do the W-5 pull-up routine, my time gets better and better Very Happy

First time I did it, it was like 23-25 minutes... pathetic, I know lol

Today it was 13 minutes Very Happy I'm hoping to get it down to around 5 minutes soon.

Anyways, here's what I did today..

W-5 Pull-ups/chin-ups
Abs
W-7 Push-ups
Calf Raises 3x20 each leg
Dips 3x10 (I really need to improve on these. Sad )

Awesome. I'm probably gonna try to get it down to 5 min or less then go to W-6 or W-7.

When I do it I start off with pull-ups then switch to chin-ups. Do you do the same, or do you just use one grip the whole time?
