PostSubject: sclarkson1's training log   Thu Jan 12, 2012 4:22 pm

So the winter term for my college course started. I have 3 night classes this term. Sad I have decided that because of this I will change my training style/routine. What I will do is high volume training. Why? Because I have less time to workout. You may think that high volume workouts take a lot of time, but in reality they dont have to. Think about it like this...you can knock out 100 pushups in less than 10 minits. BAM! You just did a high volume workout. I am not saying that I will be only doing 100 pushups, I am just giving an example. Why the log? Because even though I have done a lot of high volume training, I have never done it as long as I will be doing doing it and I wanted to share the ride. This training will be done 3 days a week, and the other 2 I will do my regular routine. If you know how to do high volume right, you will amplify your results big time. Meaning....increased strength, endurance, explosiveness, and overall conditioning. Very Happy Plus, size. Very Happy This is something everyone wants to some degree. Anyhow, sorry for the long post. I may not post right after my workouts, but they will be up.
Any thing you have to say in regards to this is welcomed.

Unfortuanatly, with my class load being so high, I have not been working out as much as I wanted to. Sad Luckily, one of my classes today have been cancelled, and same for monday. I have decided to make this weekend one crazy workout seires. Having the aft off today allows me to do a longer workout, or even 2 workouts. This weekend is free so I can do some extra workouts, and monday is a similar to today. I will kick a$$ then too. Twisted Evil I will be posting each day and I will post when I am done today as well.

On a related note, I have decided to do pushups in the mornings so I can still do some training each day. Smile

Anyhow, I am going to the basement and start training......

Here is 2nd workout of day:
5 pullups
10 pushups
10 situps
10 burpees w/o pushups
30 sec. iso wallsit
5*60lbs curls
Repeat as many rounds as possible...

I got:
Pullups=75 reps
Pushups=150 reps
Situps=100 reps
Burpees=100 reps
Wallsit=5:00 total time
Curls=50 reps

K, so I will explain what happened here. The numbers I posted at the beggining are only a fraction of my full numbers, and what I did is in each round I made it as hard as possible to reach those numbers. The first however-many rounds weren't too bad, but as I went they got harder.I also broke it up as in pushups and pullups, situps and burpees, wallsits and curls. I did different variations as I went, changed my tempo, and even had iso holds for some rounds. The burpees and situps are no challange for me, and once I got to 100 for each I stopped. It was one hell of a workout and made me sweat like a fat kid at the end of a buffet line. lol! More posts to come this weekend! Very Happy

Alternate Workout:

@Gym
-bouldering
*this is a form of rockwall climbing btw*
-jogging on track
-machines circut(chest press, lat pulldown, leg press, hamstring curls)
-core work

@Woods
-hill sprinting/pushups
*sprint up hill and alligator pushups down the hill*
-crosscountry jogging to "my" tree
-tree pullups/chinups

The gym workout was good, and I dont go there often but I try to make the most of it when I go. I do the machines because the freewieght section is filled with posers and I also hate waiting. I love the bouldering, it is a full body workout and shows you just how stong you really are.

The woods workout was better. I am a country boy, and I love the woods. I am most at home out in the bush. I love training this way because it feels very natural and requires no equipment whatsoever.
Very Happy

You may or may not have noticed that I changed the title. Why did I? Well, because in addition to high volume training, I also do other meathods of training throughout my week and weekend. So, I decided that I will start including all the other stuff that I manage to fit in. Anyhow, here's tonites workout:
