Hi all,

I'm Karl from Mexico. Just joined yesterday and read about the bar-barian requirements and it seems like a great goal to aim for training wise, so as of today I started my journey towards it.

2012/12/29

Did the requirement's sequence to see where I'm at and it went like...

Muscle-up x5
Dip x30
Pull-up x20
Push-up x30
Muscle-up x0 lol
Time: about 4:30

resttttttttt..

Then something like..
Dip x10 / Pull-up x10 / Push-up x10
Dip x10 / Pull-up x10 / Push-up x10
Dip x10 / Pull-up x10 / Push-up x10
Dip x8 / Pull-up x8 / Push-up x8
Dip x6 / Pull-up x6 / Push-up x6
Dip x6 / Pull-up x6 / Push-up x6

Squat x10 / Chin-up x8 / Leg-raise x8
Squat x10 / Chin-up x8 / Leg-raise x8
Squat x10 / Chin-up x8 / Leg-raise x8
Squat x10 / Chin-up x8 / Leg-raise x8
These last sets had huge rests in between as I felt I was dieing haha

I was still pretty sore from Thursday's workout this morning... But I really need to build up my endurance so I trained through it today, as I don't know if a workout could happen tomorrow after tonight's partying lol.

31/12/2011

Pull-ups
4-8-4 = 52
3-7-3 = 43
Chin-ups
4-8-4 = 52
Last chin-up sets I had to cheat a bit and started "kicking" to get all the reps.

Dips
5-10-5 = 80
5-9-5 = 61

Then I did some push-ups and leg raises, but my right shoulder started feeling funny so I cut and did some stretching.

First time doing pyramid sets, I like it..

Happy New Year to anyone who reads this!

6 sets of:
Front lever pull x6 / HSPU x5

I don't really know how the move is called, calling it front lever pull for now; it's when you move from a "pulled-up" position (the top part of a pull-up), extending your arms into a front lever, and pulling again into the pulled-up position. Doing these as front-lever training.

20 pistol squats each leg (4*5)

5*7 "forward lean" dips

Some random pull-ups

3 sets of handstand against the wall

Also tried some one-arm-hang holds from the pull-up bar but it was just sad how short I lasted lol.. will try this frequently to improve at it.

Icecream makers :-) , front lever pull-ups are where you do a pull up whilst maintaining the front lever position

Lol I would have never guessed that.. So thanks for clearing it up

2012/01/06

Tried the routine posted by daWALLi on another topic. Decided I should start lower on the push-ups and it still kicked my a$$ so I had to drop the reps on push sets, on pulls I got it alright. My shoulders were still somewhat fried from handstand work 2 days ago and I definitely felt it, mostly dips were harder than usual.

Push up 25 24 23 22 21 20 15 15 15 10 10 = 200
Pull up 10 9 8 7 6 5 5 5 5 5 5 = 70
Dip 20 19 18 17 16 15 10 10 10 5 5 = 145
Chin up 10 9 8 7 6 5 5 5 5 5 5 = 70

He's talking about Front lever pulls, not front lever pull-ups. And yes, the move is called exactly Front lever pull.

Today I did my 2nd try at the BBR's to see where I'm at again. I guess I'll be testing every couple weeks until I get them Very Happy

After warming up with some pullups and pushups..
It went like..

Muscle-up x5
Dips x45
Pull-ups x23
Push-ups x43
Muscle-up x0
In about 5:40

Those last muscle-ups will be really though to get... after maxing out pushups pulling the transition off in muscle-ups is damn hard :S

After some rest I did:

8 sets of:
Pull-up x5
Dip x10
Chin-up x5
Push-up x12

Finished with some core work and handstand holds vs wall.

Now time to eat big today Very Happy

Thanks, gotta get them. I assume you can do them by what I see in your log?

2012/01/16

Pull-ups 4-8-4 = 52

Diamond pushups 5*20 = 100

Pull-ups 3-7-3 = 43

Push-ups 4*25 = 100

Chin-ups 4-8-4 = 52

Push-ups 4*30 = 120

Finished with some tuck front lever holds and handstand holds.

I ordered some rings today, I should get them on Wednesday Very Happy I've never trained with rings before so I'm excited to incorporate something new into my training. This will also allow me to do much more stuff at home which will be great once I start classes again as my time gets really limited between that and work.

Rings are tough for some things, I guess it's a matter of practice as everything (I hope so lol). What I like the most is the possibility to take them with me and workout pretty much anywhere.

2012/01/19

Today's workout:

A lot of free handstand training, still a loooong way to go until I master this skill.I basically just kept making handstand attempts and threw pull-up sets in between.

Pullup 5*8

Pullup +10kg 5*5

Chinup +10kg 5*5

Finished with 3 sets of:
Pushup +10kg *20 / Pullup *8

Haven't updated my log in a while, kind of busy with school and work, but still trying to get some decent training in.

2012/02/12

Pull-ups W6 = 76 reps

Dips 5 - 10 - 5 = 80 reps

Muscle-ups 1 - 5 - 1 = 25 reps

Pull-ups M6 = 71 reps

Dips 5 - 10 - 5 = 80 reps

Then I did some sets of handstand training on parallettes, front lever pulls and jumping squats.

Haven't posted here in a while, but I've been getting workouts in between school and work.. Mostly short but frequent workouts. Today I had a bigger one:

5 sets of:
Pull-up x10 / Dip x15 = 50 / 75

16kg / 35lb backpack on, 10 sets of:
Pull-up x6 / Dip x10 = 60 / 100

Then some free-styling for a while, mostly muscle-ups but didn't count them.

W-6 Pull-ups = 76 reps

5-10-5 dips = 80 reps

6 sets of:
Pull-up x8 / Push-up x25 / Hanging leg raise x w/e = 48 / 150 / w/e

I think I'll be sore tomorrow, hadn't done weighted stuff in a while.
