PostSubject: BBR training log   Sun May 01, 2011 10:04 pm

Ok, today is May 1st 2011. Like many, I have yet to complete the BBR's (old or new). This summer, that is all going to change. I am determined not to let another summer pass me by w/out accomplishing.

follow me as i eat right, sleep well, and work hard.

Tomorrow or the next day, i will post a video of my current state.

Anyone else is welcome to share this thread and track their training w/ me.

I'm inviting EVERYONE who hasnt done the req's to join in. Let's get it!!!

PostSubject: Re: BBR training log   Fri May 06, 2011 1:47 am

in efforts to knock this out. i trained sunday - wednesday. HOARD!!

maybe a little too hard. no real plan of attack, just set after set of rep after rep

im wondering if programing would benefit me more.
right now im just going as long as i can for as hard as i can and resting when body says so...

going to develop a scheme to follow as a minimum then flesh out from there.

even though i was tired today, i did a rep test on pull ups and dips

20 pullups and 20 dips.
i feel like with a little more rest, i could have done more pullups, BUT i know my last 3 werent clean at all!! dips were all cool.. but
dips are definitely of my weakest point...

the only vid i got was of me doing 10 indoor muscle ups. i think my form is ok.. but much is to be desired

PostSubject: Friday May 6. 2011.. Day 6   Fri May 06, 2011 2:55 pm

didnt have to go to work today so i woke this morning, drank some water and got right to it.

i think i would have had a much easier time had i not went out drinking last night.

todays menu included:
10 minutes jumprope
"dirty 30's" --i could only complete 4 rounds

then pushups as a finisher. 4 sets of 15

PostSubject: day 7, 8 and 9   Mon May 09, 2011 10:46 pm

not much to report:
day 7 was supposed to be a recovery day...so it only included one max set of pullups and one max set of dips..20 pullups and 21 dips. i think i had room for a 1 or 2 more reps on each... but i wanted to fully recover beore i tested again.

Then i was in a car for the rest of the day.

Day 8 was officially a recovery day.. but i snuck in a quick set of pushups w/ my son, so it was all good.

Day 9 is today.. its only nearing 9 oclock. im deciding weather or not i could go grab another max set, or just get some rest...

PostSubject: Day 10   Tue May 10, 2011 8:37 pm

Continuing from yesterdays post, i did not go out to grab a quick set. i decided to make it a good even 2 days of rest and hit things hard today.

Today i had some spare time so i made sure i made good use of it .

workout is as follows:

jumprope: 8 mins (no i couldnt jumprope the entire 8 mins, i just dedicated that much time to jumping/warming up)

20 pullups
20 dips
10 pushups

then
5 x 10- 10 lb weighted dips
alternated with
5 x 5 - 20 lb weighted pullups (10 lb ankle weights and backpack w/ 10 lbs water bottles)

5 x 20 situps (real basic)

5 muscle ups
10 bar dips

pushup drop sets:
25, 20, 15, 10 , 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

then a ton of sprints.

am i headed in the right direction w/ this?

Yup, that looks good! Although i'd start swapping out the sit-ups for hanging leg(knee) raises Smile

PostSubject: Day 12   Thu May 12, 2011 11:04 pm

.. and what a day it was...

still sore from the day before yesterday but it was all good

ran a mile to warmup

20 dips
20 pullups...well , 13, 5, and 2

the 5x5 20 lb weighted pullups
alternated w/
5x10 10 lb weighted dips
3x15 hanging knee raises
3x5 lower back extensios

then back to bar for
drop set chins 7,6,5,4,3,2,1

10 pushups in between every set of chins

then 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 pullups
10 sets pushups in between all those as well

tried the hanging toe touch/pullup deal from the this months challenge...

it was interesting...

PostSubject: day 13-18   Wed May 18, 2011 1:21 pm

been kind of busy . not trying to neglect this log, but it may turn into a weekly thing instead of daily.

at any rate:
days 13-15 were off days

day 16
i got bat back to it with a mile run warm-up
15 pullups
7 pullups

15 dips..

then i completley ran out of gas...i went home and went to bed
i have no clue as to why i was so tired... especiallly considering the 3 days of rest i had prior...

day 17: yesterday was more like normal!!

i ran my mile (contemplated running further but chose not to)

the did 90 chin ups and 90 dips.

the plan was for 10 sets of 10 for both excercises..
i only made it to 9 of each though
halfway thru the pullups i had to break the sets up to 7 and 3 or 5 ten another 5.. whatever it took to get the #'s in.

later that evening i went to the indoor gym and did 3 sets of :
5 musle ups
5 bar dips
5 pushups

all one continuous set as in..no rest until the pushups were completed.

today im pretty sore.. i think i may just run and do some lower back training

PostSubject: days18-25   Wed May 25, 2011 11:28 pm

ok, so day 18 turned into a suprise workout session

it was a suprise becasue i no intention of working out "crossfit style"

so it went like this:
20 pushups
400 m run
10 chinups
800 m run
5 muscle ups 5 pullups
800 m run

end

it took a lot out of me. i may need to incoorporate more workouts like this to build endurance.

Day 19 was an off day

day 20 was a puchup day. i only did one max set becasue my shoulder was feeling funny

day 21 i did a smal sets of chins and pushups. 5 sets of 5... my shoulder was still feeling funny

Days 22-24 were off days

day 25 i was back in the swing of things for the most part.. still didnt attempt many dips tho

i did hang leg raises, front lever static holds ( tuck lelver)
and played around on the p- bars trying to get a hand stand

myt shoulder is improviing little by little. I have a few days off from work, so i think i'll spend them working out hard and eating everything in sight.

i want to post a test video @ the end of the month.

i think i will attempt the old req's and aim for 10 mins

if that goes well, then i will devise a plan

if it doesnt go well, i will devise yet another plan

PostSubject: Day 50   Mon Jun 20, 2011 9:46 am

Long time no post...

well i'm 50 days in and still dont feel like i made made much progress..

i've been taking a lot of time from trainig to adjust to living in a new part of the world... time zone, food, language, job, etc.. the body can only handle so much.

anywho i'm back @ it.

i figured today would be a good dday to stop playing around and really do a test to see how i stack up.

6 minutes... completely out of the question!!!

i took 10 mins to do the following:

5 muscle ups
37 dips-- 1 set of 30 the 1 set of 7 w/ 10 seconds rest in between
20 pullups- 2 sets of 10 with 20 seconds rest in between
50 pushups- 1 set of 20 then 3 sets of 10.. with huge breaks in between.
0 muscle ups/ couldnt budge on the last set of muscle ups

all of this was completed in 9 mins and 44 secs

i took 10 mins to recover then rinsed and repeated...

it wasd a deadly workout!!!

been out for a week/10 days due to flu Sad

But i was on about 5/38/25/55/0 in 6 mins at the moment... I'm really struggling with the the final set of muscle-ups. I end up with about 45secs to 1 min rest between pushups and muscle-ups but i'm just finding it insanely hard!!
