| Bit of a work in progress at the minute, but here's the pics of it shaping up Poles Forgot to take a pic of the holes dug, but the pull-up posts were 1m deep and the dip posts were 0.7m deep, all holes (square/ish) approx 30cm wide at the base and between 45 and 50cm at the top Half way there Holes have been left about 2" below ground level and will be topped off with some bark chippings (might end up covering the area below the frames with bark, my grass is crap) If anyone's interested, 2 x 12' Scaffolding poles 4 x 6'6" Scaffolding poles 3 x 7' Scaffolding poles 6 double connectors ~£80 Totals used 8 x 25kg Cement 16 x 25kg Builders Sand 24 x 25kg Limestone Chippings Pack of 8 2" x 1" x 8' bits of wood 73L bucket to mix concrete in Some screws ~£140 Tools used, Saw, Drill, Old knackered Spade, Nice spade, Pick axe, Lump hammer, Bucket Stanley knife Trowel 1 minion (mine was called ash ) Concrete was mixed in a 1:2:3 ratio with each 1/4 bag of cement requiring about 3L of water.

| great progress - already at £200 - which is not bad considering a decent power frame costs £180.
how tall is the pullup bar gonna be? |

| Thanks guys Pull up bar will be about 7'6 off the ground, high enough so that i can just reach it on tip toes! However since it's scaffolding and there's about 8'6 above ground it can go higher or lower Had a quick go on the dip bars this am (well on the two poles, the bars not going across yet!) And it seems like there's almost no flex which is good Going to stay off the dips till about next weds, and the pull-up bar till probably next sat (or a week after the concrete is finished) just to make sure its set. Kinda killing me though, i really want to play! |

| Just mixed the last batch of concrete, totalling 1.2 tonnes! Mixing concrete is a good workout i've discovered!! The concrete has been left around 2" below the surface and i'll through some bark chips down at some point. Just have to wait for it all to dry I'll post a couple more pics tomorrow when it's not dark outside! |

| Put the cross bars up last night, dip bars are awesome, but the pull-up bar has a fair amount of flex in it, it's alright for pull-ups/chin-ups but flexes a bit for muscle ups and LOTS for clapping/pull-ups (bit more of a challenge to catch the bar on the way down ) I think i'm going to try and source a bit more scaffolding and clamps and connect the top of the pull up bar with the bottom of the dip bars to add some more support and lessen the flex. |

| You didn't go low enough, its going to swing like crazy on muscle ups, even strict ones, for that height you should've gone atleast 3 ft or 4ft deep. |

They're in about 3.5 feet of concrete and around 4-6 inches of soil beneath, the issue is the steel actually flexes. |
