PostSubject: Super breakfast yogurt   Wed Jan 12, 2011 2:02 pm

I just started making this super yogurt, at first i was playing around with ingredients to see what works best. I calculated its about 1,000 calories and gives some great energy as well, i only eat it on days i know i will be doing something active i had it today before snow shoveling three houses by myself and it gave me a lot of energy to work nonstop with no fatigue. Try it sometime it taste great too. Here are the ingredients.

1 banana
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup strawberries
4 dried plums
3 tbsp. peanut butter
1 tsp. macadamia butter
1/2 cup super natural granola mix
4 ounces. skim milk
1 tbsp. flax seed
2 tbsp. maca root powder
1 tbsp. pure maple syrup/or honey
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Stir together then leave it in the fridge over night.

Vladimir, yea i don't even know what to call it, its more like an oatmeal cereal thing but it taste amazing.

BleHz0r, yea might not look pretty but once you eat it you will look at it differently. Have you ever had brown rice miso spread, it looks really bad but its healthy and taste great. Usually the very healthy foods don't look appealing.

It's really this kind food what I love ! It's a great shame that in the small village where I live we can't find all the funny ingredients what you use and fruit are expansive there in north, but I'm use to eat oatmeal cereal with skim milk and every kind things. I will try to translate your recipe and do something so close I can.
Before I also had very physical job, building and working in mountain to protect road from stone fall. I liked it very much know I'm at home to take care about tree kids, I have much to do but it's boring. Fortunately in summer I have to built and cut trees for winter.
Good luck with your training ... I not doing much this days because I practice cross country ski almost every day what is not hard only for lower body but really for all body.

nice recipe man !! it has pretty much all you need in it: good carbs, wide range of aa's, good fat, anti-oxidants, potassium, fibers ... i'll definitely try it, should fill me up nice before a heavy day at work. maybe i'd add some more protein to it though, a scoop of whey or rice protein. what you think?

something i used to do in the past to eat before work was: put some oatmeal in a bowl and cover it with natural juice, the flavour you like the most, then put that on the fridge and leave it overnight; in the next morning the oat is should've absorved most of the juice, then you add some nuts, sliced fruits, a good deal of natural yogurt on top and some honey.

Estermann, you are right about having more protein i just didn't have it then, but know i use rice protein about 40 grams worth. Your oatmeal juice idea sounds good i will try that and maybe add a few things to it.

Hey Ironloo,

This recipe looks amazing! I wouldn't be able to land my hands on some of the ingredients that you've listed in this recipe such as the maca root powder and raspberries though. However, I'd replace them with other ingredients and maybe add protein powder as well. My question is, practicing leangains, would this meal be considered a good post workout meal? I'd probably be adding ingredients such as dates, other dried/fresh fruits and yoghurt and any other form of carbs i have access to!

Yea man don't matter mix it up the way you want and use what you got, and cause your on the leangains diet this is def a great postworkout meal if its dense with enough calories/fat/protein like the one i made.
